Enhance Your Insurance Experience with an App

If it seems like there’s an app for everything, it’s because there practically is. From shopping and banking to booking vacations and scheduling appointments, apps give you 24/7 access to the things you need to smoothly run your life. And part of a smoothly run and protected life is insurance. Insurance apps can make the process of claims, paperwork, coverage and payments easier.

Claims

Although you can never plan for an accident, an auto insurance app can alleviate some of the stress of the aftermath. To prove who’s at a fault for a car accident and to help assess the cost of repairs, you need photographic proof. With a mobile insurance app, the photos you snap of your car’s dents, dings and damages can be easily sent to your insurance agent, which helps with filing your claim. And that’s just the beginning.

“Mobile insurance applications also make it much easier for you to check the status of an insurance claim,” according to The Balance writer Janet Hunt. Being informed throughout the process of repairs and reimbursements helps make car insurance apps a worthy tool and a comforting resource in a stressful situation.

Rewards

Some apps like Allstate’s Drivewise app offer rewards. By tracking your safe driving behavior, the app determines rewards you’re eligible for like insurance discounts and cash back. If you don’t have insurance through Allstate, don’t worry; you can still reap some of the benefits of this tool, as the app isn’t exclusive to Allstate clients.

Saving money at the pump is a priority for most drivers, and with Esurance’s Fuelcaster app, you’ll have the inside scoop on the ever-fluctuating world of gas prices. The free app also reveals where the lowest price of gas is in your neck of the woods.

Changes

Sometimes you need to make a change immediately, and you really don’t have the time (or energy) to sit on the phone waiting for a real-life customer service representative. With some mobile insurance apps, you can make changes to your policy and payment preferences, according to Hunt. This immediate access helps you to avoid late fees or missed payment charges. If you’re in the market for a new provider, use an app, adds Hunt. You can compare quotes from several companies.

Information

Even if you’re not currently dealing with a claim or dealing with changes, mobile insurance apps are a mobile treasure trove of information. “Other than the most noted features, there are other nifty tools available on mobile insurance applications such as glossaries of insurance terms, driving tips, along with maps to repairs shops and local agents’ offices,” notes Hunt.

For Liberty Mutual, you can use your voice to find answers without your phone. “The company created a skill for Amazon Alexa, which means customers with Alexa-enabled devices just have to ask to use the Liberty Mutual skill, and they’ll be instantly connected to answers about insurance, estimates, or to an insurance agent,” reports Blake Morgan, Customer Experience Futurist, author, keynote speaker and contributor to Forbes.

Insurance is a necessary yet complicated component of adulthood. Make the process as simple and user-friendly as possible with insurance apps.
