Easy No-Bake Desserts

Homemade desserts are delicious, but baking them can be time-consuming, and using the oven can make your house unbearably hot in the summer months. Save some time and energy by making one of these three easy no-bake desserts instead.

Oatmeal raisin cookie dough dessert dip

Dessert dips are fairly unheard of, but they make an ideal snack or dessert option if you’re trying to watch what you eat. This recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie uses chickpeas as the base — don’t worry, you won’t be able to taste the beans.

Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas or other white beans and dump into your food processor. Add 1/4-cup rolled oats, 2/3-cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/4-teaspoon baking soda, 3 tablespoons oil (like coconut or canola), 2 tablespoons apple sauce and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Blend the ingredients until smooth, then add 1/2-cup raisins and another 1/2-cup rolled oats. Blend as much as you like until the dough reaches your preferred texture.

Serve this dessert dip with apple slices, vanilla wafers or graham crackers.

Avocado chocolate mousse

Chocolate mousse is a classic dessert, but it can be a pain to make the traditional way. Instead, try this avocado chocolate mousse recipe from Gimme Some Oven that tastes great and packs an extra nutritional punch.

Take a 1-pound pack of strawberries and cut off the tops of the fruit, hollowing the insides with a paring knife.
