Condos have become increasingly popular for homeowners who want to enjoy the benefits of homeownership while also enjoying a number of perks that a traditional home may not provide. Below, we have a few of the many advantages of “living the condo life.”

Say Goodbye to Yard Work

One of the best advantages of owning a condo is saying goodbye to yard work. When you own a traditional home, you are responsible for the entire home. That includes yard maintenance. Just think about the many hours spent each year mowing, weed eating, hedge trimming and general yard maintenance. When you own a condo, all types of outside upkeep is taken care of by the homeowner’s association, so you don’t have to.

Bring on the Amenities

Another advantage of purchasing a condo are the amenities. Many condos often include shared community living areas such as fitness centers, swimming pools, movie screening rooms and more. Amenities vary, so be sure to research to ensure your building comes with the amenities you desire. But, the convenience alone of not having to leave the building to get a workout in or take a dip in the pool is appealing.

Location. Location. Location.

It’s been widely stated that the most important rule of real estate is location. As cities continue to add more restaurants, shopping and entertainment to downtown areas, the need for more convenient residential properties has increased. Many professionals who work in downtown areas are opting to skip the long commute to the office and instead take up residence near their place of employment or around their favorite entertainment and shopping needs.

On-site Security

They say you can never be too safe these days. Another advantage of living in a condo community is the on-site security. Most condos provide numerous safety measures for residents. Security guards, badge-only parking, cameras and more are pretty standard for condo communities, allowing you and your loved ones to feel safe knowing these measures are in place.

You wrote that condos are often located where businesses, entertainment and shopping are located. This would be perfect for my brother and his family, as they wouldn’t ever have to go very far for fun activities to do together with the family.
